Orient Express

Istanbul oli kukoistava Orient Expressin pääteasema.

Istanbul was the thriving final destination of the Orien Express.

The railway museum gives a good impression of the early railway times in Turkey. Pictured is a medicinal box.

From the Orient Express train you got a ride to the hotel in a personal carriage.

Yerebatan Sarayı

Ikävä kyllä minnekään hienoon paikkaan ei saa viedä jalustaa.

Unfortunately you are never allowed to take a tripod to any cool places.

The pillars just go on and on

Haunting feeling of the Halls of  Durin

The cistern has two medusa heads as pillar bases. One of the heads is upside down.

Bosphorus tour

Istanbul on suurkaupunki ja sen hahmottaa ehkä parhaiten mereltä käsin.

The size of Istanbul is clear from the sea.

Waiting for the tour to start
The harbor is always busy

New Istanbul
Look at the size of it. And the smog.
Closer.
Harbor cities all have their unique atmosphere
Sunset, cranes and city scape, what more can you ask?
If you want a palace, make it a big one
The size of the bridges are only eminent from close up

The Blue Mosque

Onneksi hyvää kannattaa odottaa! Tässä viimein ensimmäinen satsi valokuvia Turkin tutkimusmatkaltamme.

Olkaa hyvät, Sininen moskeija!

Pictures are always worth waiting for! This is the first patch of photographs from our Turkey explorations.

Here you go, The Blue Mosque!

The Blue Mosque is a visible landmark in the old town.

Washing your feet is important

Studying

The size of the Blue Mosque only hits you when you get inside

Light from the windows

Intricate decorations are just overwhelming
